A day of crafting and cooking? Yes, please! I love a good day full of all things creative. And even better when I can gobble up a few of the tasty homemade treats!

How do I make time for crafting as a family?

Make crafting a family habit by keeping it simple, flexible, and fun—less about perfection, more about connection.

Schedule “Craft Dates”
Put it on the calendar like any other activity. Whether it’s “Sunday Crafternoon” or “Friday Family Art Night,” a recurring time helps build the habit.

Keep Projects Simple
Quick crafts (15–30 minutes) are easier to squeeze in than big, time-consuming ones. Think paper crafts, coloring, or collages instead of multi-day builds.

Prep a Craft Station
Keep supplies in one place—a bin or rolling cart. When inspiration strikes, you can start right away without hunting for glue sticks or scissors.

Craft While Doing Other Things
Combine it with a family movie night or music time. Coloring, painting rocks, or making friendship bracelets can happen while chatting or listening to a podcast.

Involve Everyone
Let each family member choose a craft once a month. It keeps things fair and exciting—and you might discover new favorites together.

Embrace “Imperfect” Crafts
Don’t worry about messes or Pinterest-perfect results. The memories you make are far more important than the finished product.

Make It Seasonal or Themed
Craft around holidays, birthdays, or seasons—it gives a natural reason to create together and keeps things fresh.
